Fantastic drive out today. The jeep just looks so awesome, ready to show I think! Excellent paint job, running great, driving great!
Engine photo shows bond straps I fitted over Easter. More of these to fit on engine block and transmission when I've worked out where they fit.

The jeep is back! A massive vote of thanks goes to DALLAS AUTOS. James and Steve did a fantastic job - I owe you guys big time!
Not only did the jeep get its new coat of lustreless OD, but it got a virtual restoration at the same time! Dallas Autos = Passion for Jeeps. If ever you need anything for a jeep you can count on them.
MB365678 now has a new hood number 20627348 - S and is in the livery of 103rd Combat Engineer Batallion, 28th US Infantry Division. I chose the 103rd CE because of the "Cole" connection on a photo I found on the Lone Sentry website (hope they don't mind me reproducing it).
I can't believe what a transformation the painting has produced plus all the other improvements made to her mechanically by Dallas Autos.
Now all I have to do is put all the bits and bobs back on and we're away!!!!

Couldn't resist putting up photos of the work in progress. MB365678 is transformed. A fresh coat of proper lustreless olive drab, addition of correct hood numbers in fresh paint, new blackout light, new light switch, new fuel tank, both fenders replaced - just looks superb! In addition, every nut on bolt on the body work has been replaced with correct sized items - WOW!

As the jeep is still off the road being refitted and repainted there's not too much to talk about. We should be back on the road by next Saturday.. 
In the meantime, some photos of MB365678 as she was...
PS apologies for some of the photos having disappeared from previous posts, I had to make new disk space available, I really should fork out for a pro account.....On second thoughts.....I'd rather spend the money on the jeep!

Interesting stuff happening at the refit:
Passed MOT - brakes & steering all good
Coolant and oil changed
Points & plugs changed, timing checked
New foot starter switch, new (nos) rotary light switch, new foot high beam switch, new flasher unit, headlights re-wired
New battery ground cable fitted
New engine to frame ground strap fitted
Combat rim bolt holes are worn but OK
Bumperettes bent but usable
Brake pedal bushings renewed
New brake pedal needed
New BO light and guard to be fitted
Needs new fuel tank - leaking 
Needs new drivers side wing - corroded
Tank well OK, minor corrosion can be treated
Jeep now stripped down ready for painting to begin
A lot of stuff happening but mostly good. Electrical issues mainly down to old/worn out parts and some old wiring - should be fine now.
